Beach to Bay Marathon Relay

Each year we try to make it to the Beach to Bay Marathon Relay in Corpus Christi. This was our 3rd year to make the trek. Last time we went we had 4 teams, but this year we just had enough for one team. We always have a great time!!

This was one of our rest stops along the way, a nice view of the Colorado River.


Lichar and Jake made a make-shift fishing pole out of a tall reed and some shrimp someone had left on the dock. I know you are shocked, but they didn't catch anything. :)


The fun part of this race is trying to make sense of the absolute chaos...this year there were 1700 teams with 6 members each. The logistics of getting each person to the correct hand off location at the correct time is actually the easy part. Then you hope you hear your bib number called when the person handing off to you approaches, and the most fun is trying to meet up with your team members after running. Fortunately after years of practice, we've got it down to a science!

This is the first year we got medals, so we decided we needed an official medal ceremony... Here is Andrew getting his medal with Ark looking on.

We ran into someone we know from Houston at the race and again at the beach, so we all played cricket.


Of course we had to have a fire, so the boys went to gather wood.
