Throughout the years, no matter which lake we went to (and we went to MANY different lakes), we always seemed to encounter the same weather: cold, cloudy, windy, rainy.
Despite our long run with terrible weather, Ashley and I were excited to be able to join the family fun once again. (It has been years since the "HamFam" has all been able to go) This year didn't let us down, it rained the whole drive and even snowed on my parents as they came down from Amarillo.

But as always, we braved the elements and went out fishing anyway. And compared to some years, this was a great weather. Ash, Dad and I even managed to haul in a few on the first day.
In addition, K got to take his first road trip. We were glad to have Tante Ash along to help, but K did great for such a long drive.

We enjoyed some intense "together-ness" as the cabin was quite small. Then when you add one small infant (and the 20 bags that go with him), the cabin gets even smaller.

And the most exciting part of the trip....(drum roll please...)
K got to take his first boat ride! It warmed up and the sun came out just before we had to leave, so we bundled him up and off we went.

Since the sun finally came out, he had to put on his hat to keep it out of his eyes!
Overall, it was a great trip and we all enjoyed our time with Gigi and Poppy!

In hindsight, I am super glad L came. I do not think two of us would have been enough to make the drive there...
Gigi and Poppy had a wonderful weekend with Kaiden, his parents and Tante Ashley. Thanks for coming so far to be with us for a short time.
