Here are the boys watching as Sinterklaas arrives in Holland. K even dressed up in his "Piet" outfit. (That would be Santa's helpers for all non-Dutch readers)
Kaiden getting in the spirit by wearing his wooden shoes.
After putting out his shoe on the first night, he got pretty excited about doing it again and again.
One of his favorite treats to get was pepernoten. He loved those!
He didn't realize that these were actually chocolates wrapped in paper to look like people. After showing him one day, he bit the head off of one before I had a chance to unwrap it!
He got to where he would wake up and immediately go look for his shoe to see what Sinterklaas had brought!
Turns out he is a big fan of chocolate, as you can see here!
The morning of Sinterklaas we had a knock on the door. What do you know....Sinerklaas found us even in Houston!
K had a great time pulling everything out of his bag and exploring what he brought.
In between packages, he made sure to munch on some pepernoten.
He made sure to get every last drop out of the sack.
Even though he loved the chocolate and pepernoten, he was equally as excited about the oranges!
Sinterklaas brought him some more cars!!! I think Sinterklaas might have been hoping that this would help our "yellow car" situation. In reality though, it just made it more complicated. Now Kaiden is always looking for a specific car, and we can't always tell which one it is!
Now he starts looking for the "green" car or the "yellow" car....which may or may not be "green" or "yellow!" All we know is we have to help him find the car that HE is thinking of!
Reading his new book.
Thanks Sinterklaas for making the trip all the way to Houston!!! It was so much fun for all of us!
