Another favorite fall activity is Dewberry Farm. Last year we met my friend Abby and her crew. This year her little E requested to go to the place "where we always meet Alyssa," so it must be a tradition! We think it is a great tradition!
We seriously need to get this kid a new hat. I have no idea how he could see anything...
Watching the goats
Our crew checking out the chickens.
Mailee thought it was great fun!
Watching the chicks.
E and K at the duck races.
Mailee hanging out.
On the "hay ride" to the "pumpkin patch." I say quote, "hay ride" because there really isn't any hay. There is usually plenty of dust, but we love it regardless.
I say "pumpkin patch" because apparently the huge drought had an effect on the farm. They usually grow their own pumpkins, but this year it was obvious they just shipped in a bunch of pumpkins and spread them out in the normal pumpkin patch area.
Not quite as much fun, but it was easier to walk through and they still had cute photo ops. We thought we could get a oh-so-cute one of all the kids. Uh, nope! Think again. Kaiden would have nothing to do with that! He refused to stand next to the pumpkins.
So we settled for this one.
Well, maybe we could get a cute one of just our kids? Um, no!
Finally we got a non-screaming one of Miss Mailee.
And we figured that if we ignored Kaiden enough, he would occasionally venture into the camera frame.
But we did get everyone happy for a family shot! Yea!!!
Ahhhh, doesn't it melt your heart!
E and B enjoyed the big slide. K, not so much.
But Kaiden did enjoy exploring the fort.
Everyone enjoyed the cow train!
E was a master of the hay mountain and rope swings.
K watched her carefully.
B taking his turn at the rope swing.
Eventually Kaiden climbed the mountain and joined the action. Here E is "showing him the ropes!" (pun intended, ha!)
Mailee watched them all closely.
Before leaving we had to take a ride on the tractor.
Mailee had more fun swinging.
My little chickens....
I love this one!
A wonderful day with great friends! We can't wait until next year!
