Kaiden update, Jan-March

Here he is in his engineer outfit he got for Christmas.

Jan. 26.  We were reading Mother Goose Rhymes and we read Hey Diddle Diddle.  Kaiden asked "Where is the fork?"  I'd never wondered about the fork...

 He likes to lift his shirt and our shirt and put bellies together.

Feb 12--can dress himself outside of a little help getting head in his shirt.

Loves to run.

Pretty good at climbing.

Calls Mailee  "Ailee -- Oooo" for Mailee Moo.

 He started needing his "polar bear" to go to bed.  That has expanded and now he wants an entire posse when he goes to bed.

Sometimes that even includes "Charlie, the Ranch Dog."

LOVES to play Star Wars Lego video game.  When I say he LOVES it, that is pretty much an understatement.

Play Doh, literally hours of entertainment!!!

One day Kaiden asked, "Daddy, you come with me?"  Lich said, "No, I'm gonna stay here."  K gave a big exaggerated pouty face, dropped his shoulders and walked away. 

At the park one day one of the swings was broken.  They both wanted to swing, so we stuck them in together.  They laughed and giggled the whole time!  It was seriously more fun!!!

He is very vocal and expressive these days.  He will tell me specific events about his day at school with little or no prompting.  Lately everything is "this mornin'" even if it wasn't this morning.  :)

He is super interested in traffic rules/lights.  When we stop he will ask "The light is red?"  He sees stop signs and says, "S-t-o-p, that says 'stop' momma."  When we start going, he will ask, "It is green now?"  We've had to explain why cars next to us can go and we can't (turning lanes) and blinking red lights ("The light is going on and off!")  I think he knows enough to pass a drivers ed. class already!! 

He likes to fix his own hair in the morning.

He recently has been interested in "reading"  He will call off letters on signs/things he sees and says "read it momma"  He will get mad if I drive too fast for him to read the letters.  He will also look at books and make up stories to go with them (looking at the words, not as much as the pictures)

If you want some attention, just grab a bowl of ice cream.  :)

 

This was Kaiden's "Guppie airplane!"  We thought it was a pretty good model of the Guppie.

He takes care of Mailee, will often go get a tissue and wipe M's nose without me even knowing or asking.

He still sings Jingle Bells--in his loudest, most obnoxious voice.  Take note, it is MARCH.  Jingle Bells expires in December for Momma!

He does NOT enjoy breathing treatments!

One day he was singing with the piano.  He kept bopping his head up and down and singing 

"A B C!"  After a few "ABC's" he sang out, "Let's get this party started!"

How am I supposed to go to work when this is in my bed?!? 

Driving to Target one day, out of the blue Kaiden says, "Momma, you are a princess!"  Awwww, made my day!

Kaiden and Daddy's castle using almost every Duplo Lego we own.  Kaiden was very proud of this one!

At a store we went to the bathroom.  I picked him up to wash his hands, then put him down while I washed my hands.  He asked for a paper towel and I told him to wait.  "But my hands are melting Momma!"

He sings the ABCs to calm Mailee down.  It works amazingly well!  he is so sweet about it when he sings to her.  Sometimes I prompt him but sometimes he just starts singing when she is crying.

Lichar calls this Kaiden's "Zen moment."  Every morning before school he will stand here and finish his peanut butter cracker.  He just chills and looks around at the world, and then after a moment or two will walk to the door ready for school. :)

He still loves to play with cars, and "since the beginning," he has always assigned us these particular cars.  Sometimes we get other cars as well, but if these three are around, they always go to the assigned person.

I know I've said it before, but he is obsessed with his Lego Star Wars game.  He would probably play it all day long if we let him.

Kaiden took a trip to Bass Pro with Gigi and Poppy and caught his first fish there!!!

His favorite is this bucket of people.  The kids play with these ALL the time!

One day while shopping he decided he could be a model.  (he did this on his own, no prompting!)

He calls pepperoni pizza "Dr. Pepper" pizza!

He found an awesome use for our "puffs" from Mailee's party.

In the mornings he often wakes up and then crawls in bed with us.  For some reason on this day, he felt it was important to bring this!

He is such a sweet boy and almost always listens to us.  Here we were at a birthday party trying to get a group shot.  He was the first one sitting and just sat there patiently waiting for the others to follow suit.
