Thanksgiving in Amarillo

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Amarillo.  One of the things Gigi and Poppy wanted to take the kids to see was all the geese at McDonald park.  Man, were there a lot of geese!

 No trip to Amarillo would be complete without playing in Poppy's boat.

When the kids were done playing with Poppy's boat, they moved on to his other toy--the tractor!  Mailee had a great time riding around on it.

They had to take a time out to watch some geese fly over.

 There always seemed to be a huge group of geese flying overhead.  We enjoyed watching them.

 Kaiden took his turn on the tractor.  He's not a fan of loud sounds, so he did not want to ride.  He was fine just sitting, but no rides this time thank you!

 One night we bundled up to look at Jupiter with Mommy's old telescope.  We couldn't find Kaiden's coat so I just put my sweater on him.  It was just a little too big!

Of course we had a great time playing with Uncle and Tante.

 We made chocolate cake for Thanksgiving dinner.  Gigi made Kaiden his very own cake.

He really enjoyed it!

Then it was time to head back to Houston.  :(  It still amazes me how flat it is in Amarillo.  Amazing!

And I always forget how hard the wind can blow there.  Ugh.  I do NOT miss that!   How these flags even stay on the pole is a mystery!!

 It was a long trek back home.  Fortunately we had some help driving!!  Haha!  She thought she was super big sitting up here with me.  (Don't turn me into Child Protective Services, she only "drove" when we were parked!)
