Zoo

One of the good things about living in the tropics is that you get to do all of the "summer activities" in the fall.  Since the weather has finally been cool enough to go outside, we've been taking full advantage.  (of course I am posting this WAY late as this was at the beginning of October)  But one of our recent wonderful weekends, we headed for the zoo.

Kaiden studied the map to let us know which way to go.

Walking toward the elephants.  He saw them from a distance and started running.  "Ephaaannnnttt!"

We got to see the new baby elephant, Tupelo, only 4 days old!  We also saw baby elephant Baylor who was only 4 months old.

Then it was off to explore more.

And we found more elephants!

We stopped at the petting zoo.  Kaiden thought that was fun to watch the animals, but didn't do much petting.  He was more interested in the birds in the next cage.

I think he had the most fun here.  No animals in sight, just a plain old walk way.   Ok, it wasn't totally plain.  It was made of rubbery stuff and did feel cool to walk on.  But Mommy and Daddy got bored here very quickly.  He also had a great time at a pretend ship.  He walked right up the stairs and started singing!

Checking out the flamingos.  He also had a great time just running around.  He would run and run--then do his pretend fall, then get up and run some more.

Just before we left we got to check out the seals.  They even did some great tricks just for us!
