Amsterdam--part 1

We decided to take advantage of my maternity leave and go visit the family in Amsterdam.  There is just no good way to organize these, so you get them just in the order they came off the camera.

Kaiden was thrilled!  He was so excited to go on an airplane...plus we got to eat dinner and go night-night on the plane!  His day was made!!!  Our plane was a little late, but Kaiden didn't care.  He enjoyed watching them load it with all the supplies and luggage.

Oma met us at the airport!  Here we are all a bit tired, but Kaiden was excited now about riding the train!  (Seriously, a plane AND train in one day....it doesn't get any better than this for a 2 year old boy!!)  This also marked Mailee's very first international trip and train ride.  You can tell she was thrilled too.  ;)

Once we got to Oma's we also got to see Tante Lilian and Robin.

Robin loved, loved, LOVED holding Mailee.  I now know how to say "Can I hold the baby, please" very well in Dutch.  ;)  She got lots of practice for her baby brother who is coming in August.

Kaiden was in heaven with all of Oma's cars and trucks.  He played and played and played and played...and then played some more!

I have no idea what kind of bird this is, but I liked him.  He is very colorful!

Kaiden having a stand off with a turkey.  He is always a little unsure of noises that he doesn't recognize, so we heard a lot of, "What's that noise?" while we were here.

Robin talked me and Kaiden into trying out her swings.  I love swinging.

Robin was all about taking care of Mailee.  (Yipeee, can I take her home with me?!?)  She wanted to push the stroller all by herself.

We realized that it might look like the stroller was pushing itself if you saw us from the front!!!  :)

Kaiden being cool on the subway.  He was super excited about riding so many "trains."  Everyday when we left somewhere he'd ask, "Gonna go on the airplane?  Gonna go on the train?  Gonna go in the car?"  Amsterdam is good for a fellow who likes transportation as much as Kaiden!  He also loved pointing out all the bikes!  He was equally as excited about the one-millionth bike as he was the first.  And if you didn't realize it, there are a LOT of bikes in Amsterdam!
