Lichar found on Google maps that our house is 33 feet above sea level!!!
Ok, I know we should really know that, but in the 5 hours I had to pack up, I didn't think of looking. We were thinking it was somewhere around 20 feet, which wasn't too reassuring since the expected storm surge was 20 feet.
Right now the eye has hit Galveston (which means worst of storm surge should have hit) and surge level in Clear Lake (our house) is at 7 feet.
