San Diego

I thought I'd give everyone a break from hurricane coverage and catch up on the last trip we took this summer to San Diego! We went for a wedding of some of our friends, Bob and Megan.

We met up at the airport with Deana, who just left us to move back to Canada :( The three of us stayed at Kira's parents house in Vista. We also got to visit our friend Jessica, who is in grad school in San Diego. It was a wonderful trip and so much fun to catch up with old friends!!

First thing we did Saturday morning was take a walk along the beach. It is soooo beautiful!


How cute is this face?!? Saturday evening Bob and Meg had a picnic on Coronado beach right by the naval base. Alison started laughing on the walk back to the car. Everytime she looked at Lichar she would just crack up. By the time we made it to the car, we were all in tears from laughing so much.

All weekend we teased Lichar's about his "harem," since it was always him and all of us girls. Deana, Lys, Lichar, Jessica, Kira and Ali.


The wedding was Sunday evening, so we spent that morning relaxing by the pool at Kira's parent's place. It was rough. :) We also got to have our first (and second) In and Out Burger. YUM!


Kira made fun of us and said we looked like a swimsuit add in a catalogue.

Jessica gave us a tour of her office. She is packing up to go to Antartica for her last time. She studies extreme oxygen blood depletion in emperior penguins and elephant seals. Here she is hooking one of the packs they put on the penguin's backs to Kira.


The wedding was held at the Aquarium in La Jolla, overlooking the coast.
Lys, Deana and Kira (and no, we definitely did not plan to all wear black and white!!)


The ceremony was outside on this terrace with a tide pool.
